Born and raised in rural Massachusetts during the 1950's and 60's, Maine artisan Amy Price-Marcotte had as a young child observed and documented her natural environment. Her love of nature, biology, and science was nurtured by her father who taught science and received his formal education in animal husbandry and farm management.

From early pen and ink drawings to acrylic and oil paintings, Price-Marcotte has always enjoyed working in one medium or another. She began wood burning in the 1980's and has fine-tuned her craft over the years adding color and texture to wood-burned themes.

Amy and her husband David moved to Eastport, Maine and opened their retail store, Wood on Water, in the downtown historic district. She and David work together handcrafting the chests, lap desks, and other pieces, followed by woodburning, hand painting, and staining each item. Great attention is given to each piece, the result being an outstanding gift or addition to your own home.
